Armenia Leads in Exports from Georgia
According to the National Statistical Service of Georgia (Geostat), in the period from January to May 2023, Georgia's external trade turnover (excluding unreported trade) reached $8.36 billion, which is an 18.9 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The information was reported by aliq.ge.
As per Geostat, the share of the ten largest exporting partners accounted for 80.8 percent of Georgia's total exports during the January to May 2023 period. The top three exporters are Armenia ($360.0 million), Azerbaijan ($336.5 million), and Russia ($281.3 million).
Furthermore, Geostat reported that the ten largest trading partners represented 68.2 percent of Georgia's overall external trade turnover. Georgia's largest trading partners are Turkey ($1.19 billion), Russia ($1.06 billion), and China ($623.3 million).
