Prosecutor's Office Demands the Confiscation of Approximately 2 Billion Drams and 2 Real Estate Properties from Vladimir Gasparyan's Son-in-Law
The Anti-Corruption Court accepted a new claim regarding the confiscation of illegally acquired property on June 5, 2023. The Office of the Prosecutor General has submitted a demand to the court to confiscate from Arthur Gevorgyan, a former member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and former head of the Davtashen administrative district of Yerevan, and his affiliated individuals on behalf of the Republic of Armenia.
The demand includes the confiscation of 2 real estate properties located in the Republic of Armenia and the United States, along with 1 vehicle, or, if impractical, their average market value, totaling approximately 409 million drams. Additionally, the prosecution is seeking about 1 billion 57 million drams as the remaining amount of illegal monetary funds, as well as 925 million drams representing the value of unidentified illegal funds transferred by honest buyers. Furthermore, the prosecution seeks a claim for a debtor's right from an individual amounting to 56 million drams.
