Possible Consequences of the Breakdown in Armenia-Russia Relations Are Quite Obvious, Overchuk

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, in an interview with TASS agency, spoke about the unblocking of communications in the region, trilateral negotiations, meetings of deputy prime ministers, and Armenian-Azerbaijani peace talks. He addressed the question of whether Armenia is currently leaning towards the West.

“Nikol Vovayi Pashinyan stated both in the Kremlin during the Eurasian Economic Supreme Council meeting and in Sochi during the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting that Russia is Armenia’s main trading partner, and this is the primary reason for Armenia’s vigorous economic growth. Membership in the EAEU, which entails the absence of tariffs, an unobstructed environment, and the free movement of capital and labor, as well as access to the vast EAEU market, gives Armenia a tremendous advantage and is the cause of the country’s economic leap. We are pleased with our ally’s economic achievements; they are a living example and proof of the correctness of the integration course proposed by the Russian leadership. I don’t even want to think about the possible consequences of a breakdown in Armenia and Russia's relations; they are extremely obvious,” said the Russian Deputy Prime Minister.
