Medication Availability in Artsakh Reaches Approximately 40%
The Ministry of Health of Artsakh reports that as of June 15, for the fifth consecutive day, the movement of patients from Artsakh and the supply of medical supplies and medications by the International Committee of the Red Cross has been completely blocked by Azerbaijan.
Due to the suspension of medication imports, the availability of medications in the inpatient sector has reached around 40%, while in the outpatient sector, it stands at approximately 20%. Considering the situation, from today, all non-urgent examinations and interventions (surgeries) have been canceled in all healthcare institutions across the republic.
About 175 patients with various diagnoses are currently awaiting the opportunity to be transferred to medical facilities in the Republic of Armenia to receive appropriate medical assistance. Those requiring immediate transfer include individuals suffering from oncological and cardiovascular diseases.
At present, 8 children are receiving care in the intensive care unit and neonatal ward of the Artsakh Health Ministry's "Arevik" medical institution. Additionally, 8 patients are in the intensive care unit of the Artsakh Health Ministry's Republican Medical Center, 3 of whom are in extremely critical condition.
