Video: Fire Breaks Out on Roof of Multi-Storey Residential Building in Belgorod
A fire that broke out in a multi-storey building in the center of Belgorod, Russia, has been extinguished, reported Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of Belgorod region, on his Telegram channel.
According to preliminary data, the decorative dome of the building was set ablaze. Gladkov stated that the fire did not spread to the apartments. He also mentioned that the authorities would begin to "restore the affected residences" and the boiler house after assessing the damage.
Temporary shelter has been offered to all who needed it. There were no casualties or injuries reported. The causes of the incident are being investigated.
Belgorod's mayor, Valentin Demidov, indicated that the technical room was affected by the fire. The preliminary cause of the fire is believed to be a violation of safety rules during work.
The incident occurred on the night of June 17 in the area of the Holy Trinity Boulevard. According to the SHOT telegram channel, the Slavinsky residential complex was on fire. The Mash telegram channel reported that the "most expensive apartment" in the Central Federal District, a penthouse valued at 45 million rubles in 2019, was burned.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations clarified that the fire originated in the boiler house. A total of 78 people and 28 units of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
