Ukraine's Chief Rabbi Responds to Putin on Zelensky

Ukraine's Chief Rabbi Moshe Reuven Asman has responded to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who referred to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as a "disgrace to the Jewish people." Asman made these comments to a correspondent from UNIAN.

"I can personally say that I am proud of President Zelensky, who has not fled and is doing everything possible to help the Ukrainian people. And not just me. I believe the whole world is proud of him," stated Moshe Reuven Asman.

The Chief Rabbi of Ukraine also emphasized that there are no neo-Nazis in Ukraine. "There are decent people in Ukraine who are defending their homeland," Asman added.

Earlier, President Vladimir Putin spoke at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, where he addressed questions from the moderator regarding President Volodymyr Zelensky.

"My Jewish friends say that Zelensky is not a Jew, but a disgrace to the Jewish people," Putin had remarked.
