Why Did the Bankruptcy Court Judge Resign? - "Hayosd"
According to the "Hayosd" newspaper, the resignation application submitted yesterday by Bankruptcy Court Judge Samvel Tadevosyan has deep roots. The reason is that the Council of Court Administrators has initiated disciplinary proceedings against four judges of the civil and bankruptcy courts, and according to news circulating in the judicial system, these judges are not expected to have good days ahead.
One of those judges is Samvel Tadevosyan, against whom disciplinary proceedings have been initiated. Essentially, he did not wait for the Council's meeting on June 19 and the subsequent decision regarding the investigation, and taking a step forward, he left the judicial system. It should be noted that the Judicial Department announced Tadevosyan's resignation, stating that the resignation request has been discussed by the Council in accordance with the law, and as per the relevant decision, Judge S. Tadevosyan's powers have been considered terminated.
Who are the other judges against whom the Council has also initiated disciplinary proceedings, with the first meeting on this matter scheduled for June 19? In addition to Samvel Tadevosyan, the targets include civil court judge Astghik Kharatyan, while the other two judges are the Supreme Court civil chamber judges Tigran Petrosyan and Artak Barseghyan.
It is worth mentioning that the European Judges Association recently issued a rather strong statement regarding the disciplinary processes initiated against Armenian judges, considering them as pressure on the independent judicial system.
