The Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, explained to the opposition that the government is not 'buttering up' anyone.

“I am always curious when you mention 133 years; I want to understand if it’s like wine or what it is. I want to say that 133 is not what matters, what matters is what results you register,” he stated in parliament, addressing the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (HDP).

According to Simonyan, during these 133 years, the HDP has cooperated with all governments.

“We are cleaning up the aftermath of your cooperation; we still can’t clean it up,” said the Speaker of the National Assembly.

He emphasized that every government needs an opposition, but there is none available.

Simonyan also urged the HDP to go and compete with 'Dogi'. “That’s the level you have reached today,” he said.
