CNN Reports on Widespread Cyberattack Against U.S. Federal Agencies

Several federal agencies in the United States are facing a massive cyberattack, according to CNN, citing the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

"CISA is assisting several federal agencies that have been forced to deal with a hacking incident involving the MOVEit application, which they use," said CISA representative Eric Goldstein to the network.

The agency has not responded to CNN's inquiries regarding who is behind the hacking attack and how many agencies have been affected.

The network reminded that cyberattacks had begun two weeks ago against major U.S. universities and various state governments. Notably, Johns Hopkins University reported that hackers may have stolen personal and financial confidential information. The University of Georgia system administration had earlier confirmed they are investigating the extent of the cyber hacking attack and the potential damage it has caused.
