Armen Ashotyan's Detention Hearing Adjourned for 1.5 Hours, Lawyer Says

The detention hearing for Armen Ashotyan began and was adjourned for 1.5 hours at my request in order to review the materials. This was reported by Ashotyan's lawyer, Tigran Atanesyan, on his Facebook page.

It is recalled that today the Vice President of the RA Republican Party, Armen Ashotyan, was detained for 24 hours, and within 12 hours, a court must be presented with the question of selecting detention as a measure of restraint against him. The lawyer noted that the basis for the detention is that he violated the conditions of a prohibition on absence, but it is not specified how he violated it.

Ashotyan describes this process as political persecution and has refused to provide testimony.
