VIDEO: 'That girl probably grew up in a chicken coop.' A ruling party member insulted an opposition female MP
‘Well, you couldn’t find a specialist to work in this field with just two factions? Someone neutral to come and forget what preferences you have, how you relate to us?’, announced ruling party MP Vigen Khachatryan today, June 14, during a session of the National Assembly.
It’s noteworthy that the two opposition factions nominated Anahit Sargsyan as a candidate for the Competition Protection Commission member.
‘Did you not find that specialist? Was this your chosen specialist, one who is ready to have issues with the people, whose eyes well up with tears when entering Artsakh? There was one like that who was walking in the streets during your ‘homeland salvation’ time, now fluttering in America,’ he stated.
Khachatryan pointed out that freedom of speech shows the people who are blabbering and who are taking action, who are ‘dead weight’ in their chairs, and who are dedicated to the people: ‘I roam around, interact with people, seeing both supporters and your supporters. I witness the kindness of our supporters and the unrestrained, uncivilized behavior of your supporters, which you sow—the hatred, the audacity, the lack of manners, and from this podium, you allow yourselves to speak like that.’
‘There is one, who probably grew up in a chicken coop, coming here saying, “the granddaughter of the NA president is fluttering.” I think this girl was raised in a chicken coop because she flutters like a chicken. You should account for yourselves, know your place,’ the MP declared.
When he received similar calls from the audience, he continued: ‘I hold myself accountable, to the extent that unlike you, I don’t interrupt those speaking. And you reserve the right to restrain yourselves; learn to conduct yourselves in parliament as MPs.’
Following these words, remarks echoed from the hall, leading to a verbal dispute, to which the session chair, Alen Simonian, responded: ‘Alright, calm down for a bit, just for now.’
