Elite Wedding Where Guests Were Searched Beforehand

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan does not feel secure even among close associates, writes the newspaper Hraparak.

On June 10, Pashinyan and the entire political elite of the Civil Contract party attended the wedding of Arshak Ordookhanyan's son, an advisor to the Minister of Defense, Suren Papikyan, who serves in a public capacity. However, before entering the restaurant, Pashinyan's security personnel thoroughly checked all the guests with a metal detector. There were around 900 attendees, after which Pashinyan arrived at the restaurant.

Almost the entire prominent cadre of the Civil Contract party was present at the wedding, which took place at the "Harsnakar" restaurant owned by former Republican Party MP Ruben Hayrapetyan. They toasted to the Republic of Armenia, during which the members of the Civil Contract lined up one by one to clink glasses with the Prime Minister.

The groom's father, Arshak Ordookhanyan, is the head of the Arabkir office of the Civil Contract party and was included in the party's electoral list for the parliamentary elections. The bride's father is Vilen Areshatyan, the head of the financial department of the Yerevan Municipality, a former associate of ex-mayor Taron Margaryan.
