Russian Schools May Open in Armenia Following the Example of the Armenian-Chinese School, Says Andreasian
Discussions regarding the opening of Russian schools in Armenia are ongoing, and they may be established following the example of the Armenian-Chinese school, but within the framework of Armenian legislation. This announcement was made by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasian, during the Armenian-Russian Educational Conference, as reported by Sputnik Armenia.
Addressing the work of the task force created for opening Russian schools in Armenia, the minister emphasized that several meetings have already taken place in remote format.
“We are primarily discussing questions in two directions. One is the cooperation that we can have within the framework of our legislation. I have already mentioned the Armenian-Chinese school, which operates in our country and serves as a very good example of such cooperation. We also consider the possibility of similar cooperation with the Russian Federation, again within our legislative framework,” said Andreasian.
She assured that they are doing everything possible to prioritize the educational rights of Russian citizens in Armenia. The Minister of Education emphasized that bilateral memorandums will be signed between Armenian and Russian universities, which will create good opportunities for further development of their relationships.
Andreasian expressed hope that during these two days, they will be able to outline new cooperation programs, which may include exchange programs for teachers and students, as well as other joint initiatives.
