Ukraine Reports on NATO Countries Officially Supporting Membership

Twenty NATO countries have officially confirmed their support for Ukraine's membership in the alliance, stated the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Ihor Zhovkva. For NATO membership, the support of all participating countries is necessary. It should be noted that NATO has 31 member states.

“As of today, there are already formal confirmations of support for Ukraine’s membership from 20 member states,” Zhovkva wrote on Facebook.

The Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine spoke about the support for Ukraine's NATO membership following Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's visit to Kyiv. Trudeau signed a joint declaration supporting Ukraine's accession to NATO, “when conditions permit,” Zhovkva noted.

It is also worth mentioning that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted a request for accelerated NATO membership on September 30, 2022.
