There is a contradiction between us and Ms. Gayane, says lawyer

“There is a contradiction between us and Ms. Gayane: it would be better for her to say the rest. Yes, the contradiction was related to the defense strategy. Our position has been that we should continue the defense based on exoneration, but Ms. Gayane had a different opinion. We believe Ms. Gayane will have the opportunity to talk about this,” said lawyer Hovhannes Sargsyan during a conversation with reporters outside the courthouse.

The lawyer stated that they had submitted a request to change the measure of restraint and had left the courtroom. “We are no longer representing Gayane Hakobyan. We believe that in connection with the charges, Ms. Gayane will express her position. We have had our position and we still believe that the crime composition is absent in this case,” he noted.

It is important to recall that Gayane Hakobyan, the mother of the fallen soldier Zhora Martirosyan, who was detained in connection with the abduction of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s son, Ashot Pashinyan, has refused her lawyers.
