"Created in the EAEU": Putin Discusses Establishing a Unified Production Brand
Within the EAEU territory, a joint production should be established to be marketed under the common commercial name "Created in the EAEU". This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with the heads of government of the CIS and EAEU member countries.
"I believe that the variant 'Created in the CIS' will also be acceptable for all of you. It should be a branded product. This branded product must be well-known, recognizable, and used in our union countries. Importantly, it should represent the result of unified production and cooperation across all our countries," emphasized Putin.
He also stated that Russia does not intend to distance itself from anyone and that there are no plans to produce everything at all costs. The Russian Federation will remain part of the global economy. "Of course, we do not plan to isolate ourselves from the global economy, especially from the prospective centers of the global economic development. This does not mean that we all must produce only within our union at all costs. Such a thing does not exist. We will strive to remain a significant and vital part of the global economy," stated Putin.
The Russian President further added that technological independence is also very important and that energy self-sufficiency must be achieved so that the member states of the union do not have any dependence on foreign markets or relevant companies in critical sectors.
The Eurasian Economic Union is an international integration economic alliance that has been in operation since January 1, 2015. Its members include Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
