Blinken Expected to Visit China Next Week: Politico
The U.S. Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, is expected to visit China next week. Details of the visit are still being finalized by the State Department, according to sources familiar with his schedule who spoke to Politico.
This visit will mark the first by a senior U.S. official to China since 2018, when then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo visited the country. It is known that Blinken will travel to Beijing from the Middle East. Currently, the U.S. Secretary of State is in Saudi Arabia, where he has already held various meetings.
It is also noteworthy that neither the State Department nor the Chinese embassy in Washington has commented on the information regarding Blinken's upcoming visit.
