Violations Lead to Suspension of Poultry Farm Operations

The operations of the "Getamej" poultry farm have been suspended due to identified violations. This was reported by the press service of the Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia.

The inspection body conducted sampling of several brands of locally produced frozen poultry in conjunction with the NGO "Investigative Journalists" and submitted them for laboratory analysis. The examination revealed the presence of salmonella in samples of frozen chicken under the "Getamej" brand.

The FSIB also conducted an inspection of the poultry farm and identified several violations. "In the sections of the production buildings where food production takes place, the floor and wall surfaces were not made of waterproof, washable, and disinfectable materials; doors were uneven and not made of non-absorbent materials," the inspection body lists the violations.

There were no secure ceilings and structures above the production buildings, meaning that the accumulation of dirt, mold growth, and moisture condensation were not prevented.

In addition, the technological equipment and property in contact with food were not made of materials that can be washed and disinfected. They were also not in satisfactory condition.

The FSIB has set a deadline for eliminating the identified violations.
