Two Representatives of the Armenian Community Affected by Flood in Kherson
As a result of the flood caused by the collapse of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, representatives of the Armenian community in the Kherson region have been affected.
According to reports by Armenpress, Ukrainian-Armenian political analyst Marat Hakobyan stated to AnalitikaUA that the Union of Armenians of Ukraine is actively involved in providing assistance to the residents of Kherson in all available activities.
“There are affected individuals among the local community representatives, and the Union of Armenians of Ukraine is actively engaged in helping all Kherson residents in need. Naturally, aid is being provided not only to Armenians but to all Kherson residents who require it,” he said.
Marat Hakobyan informed Armenpress that two individuals from the Armenian community have been affected.
Tigran Mkrtchyan, the leader of the Armenian community in Kherson region, also told AnalitikaUA that the community is actively cooperating with the military-civilian administrations of Kherson region and city to evacuate and accommodate those affected. Several Armenian communities have already initiated efforts to house the affected individuals in their areas.
It is worth mentioning that the dam of the Kakhovka HPP collapsed on the night of June 6. Moscow and Kyiv blame each other for the shelling of the hydroelectric power station.
