Prosecutors' Offices Under Surveillance: Details from 'Zhoghovurd'
'Zhoghovurd' newspaper reports: 'Why have prosecutors overseeing the criminal cases against former presidents Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan been dismissed? Reports from within the prosecutor's office have reached 'Zhoghovurd' that the offices of the prosecutors have been under operational surveillance. As a result, according to information circulating within the system, the prosecutors, even aware of this, have expressed sentiments such as 'they don't listen to us,' and have engaged in discussions using derogatory remarks about Chief Prosecutor Anna Vardanyan, which has become the reason for their dismissal from the system.
The extent to which these claims circulating within the system are true will become clear with time; however, discussions about this have been active within the system since yesterday. We requested a comment from the Chief Prosecutor's Office, which categorically denied such reports.
It should be noted that it became known yesterday that Deputy Chief Prosecutor Gevorg Baghdasaryan and the prosecutor of Kotayk Province, Petros Petrosyan, who were involved as prosecutors in Robert Kocharyan's 'March 1' case, submitted their resignation requests. Additionally, Arsen Martirosyan, the prosecutor for the case against Serzh Sargsyan, has also submitted his resignation request.
