We Need Guarantees on Paper: Zelensky on NATO Expectations
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that he expects to receive security guarantees for Ukraine at the NATO summit in Vilnius. He made this announcement during a press conference.
“We need it on paper, so that no one among the leaders starts a narrative about how the public is getting tired, the economy is getting tired, we cannot provide the necessary volumes. Therefore, we need guarantees on paper,” he said.
Earlier, Zelensky convened an emergency meeting of the National Security Council in connection with the devastation of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (Kherson region).
Vladimir Leontyev, head of the Nova Kakhovka administration, warned that difficulties could arise in the supply of fresh water to Crimea due to the dam collapse. At the same time, he stated that the most terrifying outcomes related to the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP have already passed.
Zelensky has blamed the Russian side for destroying the hydroelectric plant.
