Mirzoyan and Derek Hogan Discuss Regional Security and Stability Issues
On June 6, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a phone conversation with Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Derek Hogan. This was reported by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The interlocutors discussed issues related to regional security and stability. In anticipation of upcoming discussions in Washington, they addressed key questions in the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including delimitation and ensuring border security, as well as properly addressing the rights and security of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of ensuring maximum clarity in the delimitation process, particularly regarding the commitment to the 1975 map. Ararat Mirzoyan once again drew his American counterpart's attention to the aggressive rhetoric emanating from the highest levels of the Azerbaijani leadership alongside the negotiation process, stressing the necessity of eliminating threats of the use of force and mutual respect for territorial integrity,” the statement said.
