Driver Fined €121,000 in Denmark for Speeding

A wealthy driver in Finland has been fined €121,000 ($129,544) for exceeding the allowable speed limit. This hefty fine is explained by the fact that penalties are calculated based on the offender's income, as reported by dw.com.

“I really regret it,” said the offender, businessman Anders Vikloff, expressing hope that the amount he paid would be directed towards the healthcare system.

The source details that Vikloff was driving at a speed of 82 kilometers per hour in a zone where the limit was 50 kilometers per hour when he was stopped and fined by the police. In addition to the fine, his driver's license has been suspended for 10 days.

This is not the first time Vikloff has been penalized for speeding. In 2018, he was fined €63,680 (about $68,000), and five years ago, he had to pay €95,000 (around $102,000).

Vikloff is the president of a holding company that includes businesses in logistics, helicopter servicing, real estate, trade, and tourism.
