Ten People Have Died from Cider Poisoning in Russia
A deadly poisoning incident involving cider has occurred in the Ulyanovsk and Samara regions of Russia. Cider is a weak alcoholic beverage made from the fermentation of apple juice.
Currently, 24 poisoning cases have been confirmed, with the reported death toll reaching 10.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) has announced that in Dimitrovgrad, Ulyanovsk region, 193 barrels, each with a capacity of 30 liters, have been seized, and 23 sales points have been inspected.
Rospotrebnadzor, the consumer protection agency, has warned residents about the dangers of consuming this apple-based beverage.
In addition, the Investigative Committee has reported that a businessman from the Samara region has been arrested in connection with the cider poisoning case affecting residents of Ulyanovsk.
