Iran's Foreign Ministry Condemns Statement from Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry
The official representative of Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanaani, has condemned the statement from Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, which calls on citizens to avoid traveling to Iran.
“The Azerbaijani people should be afraid of the Israeli regime, not the civilized Iran,” he wrote on Twitter.
According to him, Iran's goal is to continue its friendly policy within a framework of mutual respect.
It should be noted that recently, Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry urged its citizens to refrain from visiting the Islamic Republic of Iran unless necessary, advising those entering the country to remain vigilant.
The official clarification mentioned that the reason for this decision was a terrorist act against the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran carried out in January of this year, which has limited the operations of Baku’s diplomatic representation.
It is worth adding that relations between Baku and Tehran have deteriorated after the Iranian side conducted large-scale military exercises near the Azerbaijani borders.
