Dissolved Oxygen in Vardavar Lake Insufficient for Fish Survival
Preliminary results from the initial analysis of water samples from Vardavar Lake indicate that the dissolved oxygen levels are very low and insufficient for the survival of fish. This was reported by the Ministry of Environment of Armenia.
It was noted that the water is moderately alkaline, with particularly high concentrations of ammonium (3rd class, 'moderate') and sulfate ions (5th class, 'poor').
It is worth mentioning that today, on June 5, rescuers discovered three dead fish in Yerevan's Vardavar Lake.
