Nikol Pashinyan Cancels Meeting with Armenian Community in Chișinău

Nikol Pashinyan has canceled a meeting with the Armenian community in Chișinău. This was reported by 'Hraparak'. The leader of the Armenian community in Moldova, Venera Mushegh, told the media that she is unaware of the reason for the cancellation but shared some details.

“My name was first on the list of invitees as the head of our diaspora community, but a line was drawn through my name, and it was stated that I should categorically not be present. I said that I am here to represent Armenians; how could I not participate? I have questions to ask him, why shouldn't I participate?” said Venera Mushegh.

The head of the Armenian diaspora in Moldova warned that even if her attendance is deemed unacceptable, no one can stop her, and she cautioned against any attempts to prevent her. “The meeting was to be held at the house-museum of Manuk Bey Mirzoyan, which I have returned to the Armenian community with the help of the previous Prime Minister of Moldova. The meeting was scheduled for the second of the month at 10 AM. They called me, saying, 'Musheghovna, the meeting is not happening, they refused, they don’t want to meet with the community,'” stated the community leader.

Mushegh also mentioned that they have not yet decided what steps to take. She did not rule out the possibility that the news of the cancellation might have been deliberate, allowing Pashinyan to meet with his supporters while avoiding uncomfortable questions and situations.

It should be noted that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, accompanied by his wife Anna Hakobyan, has been on a working visit to the Republic of Moldova from May 31 to June 2.
