I Hope We Will Witness Bilateral Cooperation: Iran's Leader to Aliyev

Iranian leader Ebrahim Raisi sent a congratulatory message to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Independence Day, celebrated on May 28 in Azerbaijan. In his message, he stated, “Considering the vast potential of our countries, I hope that we will witness the bilateral cooperation and further expansion of relations based on the mutual interests of our peoples.”

Raisi emphasized that Azerbaijan holds a special place in Iran's neighborhood policy. “The shared history of our Muslim peoples, the unbreakable religious and cultural ties between them are considered a very valuable contribution to the development of relations between the two countries,” the Iranian president wrote. “In this framework, Iran has always fully supported Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Raisi highlighted.
