Search for Mihran Poghosyan Announced in 1 Ton Cocaine Case: NSS

In the course of the criminal proceedings initiated on May 13, 2023, by the Armenian National Security Service’s (NSS) investigative department, extensive investigative and procedural actions were carried out. Based on the factual data obtained, decisions were made by the supervising prosecutor concerning members of a criminal group, including Mihran Poghosyan, the actual owner of the 'Mrgani' LLC, its director L. A., and warehouse manager S.G.

They face public criminal prosecution under relevant articles of the Armenian Criminal Code for the illegal sale of drugs in large quantities and for large-scale drug smuggling. Pre-trial detention has been chosen as a measure of restraint against them, and a search for Mihran Poghosyan has been announced.

Ongoing extensive and various operational-investigative and procedural actions are being implemented in the criminal proceedings to reveal the full picture of the committed crimes, to identify other individuals connected to the cases, and to initiate public criminal prosecutions against them, thus effectively applying the principle of inevitability of criminal responsibility.

Note: A person accused of a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the law established in the Code of Criminal Procedure by a court decision that has entered into legal force.
