The police officers accompanying the Prime Minister of Armenia are maintaining public order. This was stated by Ara Fidanian, the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during a briefing with journalists in the National Assembly.

"We are carrying out our service, our functions. If there is any overstepping of our powers within the framework of the law, I assure you that appropriate actions will be taken not only by the police but also by other law enforcement agencies," Fidanian noted.

He did not clarify how many resources are being spent on the police officers stationed in public areas.
