Recognizing Nagorno-Karabakh as Part of Azerbaijan is a Tragedy: Ardzinba
The de facto Foreign Minister of Abkhazia, Inal Ardzinba, has labeled the statement made by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan as a tragedy, in which he expressed Armenia's readiness to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan. The information was reported by Alik Media.
According to the de facto Foreign Minister, just a few years ago, it was unimaginable that the Prime Minister of Armenia would make such a statement. “Moreover, in 1992, the Supreme Council of Armenia adopted a decision stating that any internal or inter-state normative legal act that considers Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan is not permitted in the Republic of Armenia. Prime Minister Pashinyan's statement appears to contradict this decision. This is an unprecedented statement. We are living in a very harsh geopolitical era. What happened with Nagorno-Karabakh is the result of geopolitical consensus. The consequences could be quite tragic,” Ardzinba stated.
