If Pegasus Infections in Armenia Were from Azerbaijan, Then Israel Allowed It: Samvel Martirosyan
If the Pegasus infections during military operations were from Azerbaijan, it means that the Israeli government officially allowed Azerbaijan to use cyber weapons in Armenia. This was stated by media expert Samvel Martirosyan during a meeting with journalists today.
“For example, if Armenia wanted to purchase that during military operations, they would definitely impose a ban because they had serious military-industrial cooperation with Azerbaijan at that time. I don’t think that during that period the Israeli army would have allowed the sale of the Pegasus espionage program to Armenia,” he said.
Samvel Martirosyan emphasized that before the recorded incidents in Armenia, there had been no other proven cases during military operations.
Recall that since 2021, people began to suspect that there were some spyware programs on their phones, which was confirmed after certain checks and investigations. Amnesty International reported that in April-May 2021, journalists, former Human Rights Defender of Artsakh Ruben Melikyan, former spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anna Naghdalyan, political figures, and others were victims of Pegasus.
