Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his victory in the Turkish presidential elections. This was reported by the Kremlin's press service.

Following Erdoğan's victory, congratulations have also come from Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, Serbia President Aleksandar Vučić, and Libya’s National Unity Government leader Abdel Hamid Dbeibeh.

It should be noted that thousands of Erdoğan's supporters have already gathered in front of his residence in Ankara. A speech from Erdoğan is expected.

The current president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has declared victory in the second round of the presidential elections held in the country. His competitor was the united opposition candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who failed to surpass the 50 percent threshold of the voting results.

After counting more than 98 percent of ballots in Turkey, it has become clear that Erdoğan has garnered 52.12 percent of the votes, while Kılıçdaroğlu has 47.88 percent according to the latest data. The victorious Erdoğan in the second round stated that the elections in the country are a "celebration of democracy." Kılıçdaroğlu described the current elections as one of the most unjust phases in the country's history.
