“If you break the agreement, you will regret it”: Aliyev

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has addressed the issue of Azerbaijani servicemen who penetrated into the territory of Armenia. Reports are being delivered by Azerbaijani news outlets.

“After the end of the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War, representatives of Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed that if anyone gets lost, they should be returned within a maximum of two days. We adhere to these agreements. We keep the lost individuals for a maximum of two days, interrogate them, and return them, both military personnel and civilians. But what are the Armenians doing? They have beaten our lost soldiers, humiliating them, tying them up, and filming the moment of the beating, and in the end, they put them behind bars,” said Aliyev.

The President of Azerbaijan added, “If you break the agreement, you will regret it.”

It should be noted that one of the Azerbaijanis who penetrated into Armenia had killed a security guard of the ZPMC. Furthermore, on May 26 at 19:00, communication with two Armenian servicemen providing food supplies to combat positions was lost. The Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan announced that the two Armenian servicemen, Harutyun Hovakimyan and Karen Ghazaryan, had been arrested. False charges were presented against them for terrorism, illegal infiltration, and illegal transportation of weapons.
