We Have Nothing to Discuss: Erdogan Responds to Kilicdaroglu's Debate Call
The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has rejected the opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu's invitation for a televised debate, stating that they have nothing to talk about. He made this announcement during an interview with CNN Turk and Kanal D.
Kilicdaroglu had invited the current leader to a televised debate on Thursday to 'prove' his alleged 'collaboration with terrorists.' Erdogan responded by saying that if Kilicdaroglu cannot prove his collaboration with terrorists, then he is a 'dishonest person.'
'Now he is calling me to television. What is there to discuss with me? He has neither achievements nor vision. Should I discuss the hospital of the social security department in the Okmeydanı district with you, or should we talk about how you gave 40 mandates in parliament to those who received not even 1 percent of the votes in the elections?' Erdogan stated.
It is noteworthy that the second round of presidential elections in Turkey is scheduled for May 28.
