Arizona House of Representatives Recognizes the Right to Self-Determination of Artsakh
The Arizona House of Representatives in the United States has officially recognized the right to self-determination of Artsakh. House Speaker Ben Thomas issued a separate statement acknowledging and expressing solidarity with the right to self-determination of Artsakh and the struggle of its people for a free and independent life.
The President of the Arizona House of Representatives also called on the international community to recognize the government of Artsakh and to assist in resolving the conflict.
Commenting on this decision, Zangu Armenyan, a member of the Central Committee of the Armenian National Committee of America, stated: “We welcome the announcement from the President of the Arizona House, which recognizes the right to self-determination of Artsakh. This is an important step for the people of Artsakh. Amid the blockade imposed by Azerbaijan, this expression of solidarity is a crucial part of our community's ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the unfolding humanitarian disaster and to ensure that Azerbaijan is held accountable for its continuous aggression against the Armenian people. This declaration reflects the tireless work of the Armenian community in Arizona, and the Armenian National Committee looks forward to continuing to work with active members of our community to ensure that our voices are heard at all levels of government.”
