Yerevan Taxi Driver Disposes of Narcotics When Pulled Over by Patrol Officers
A taxi driver in Yerevan failed to deceive patrol officers, claiming that two packages he threw out of his vehicle contained narcotics. On May 23, officers from the Patrol Service of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs noticed a Mercedes G-Class vehicle with the license plate 06 SX 066. Upon pulling over the driver for an identity check, he discarded an item from the car.
According to Shamshyan.com, a personal search of the driver yielded no findings. However, the driver, identified as 35-year-old Arthur B. from Yerevan, admitted that the two packages he threw out contained narcotics, which he claimed to have found.
Authorities transported Arthur B. to the Davitashen division of the police, where materials regarding the incident are being prepared. The vehicle has also been moved to a secure area under the custody of the Davitashen Police Division.
Notice: The suspect in the alleged crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia by a legally binding court decision.
