Wildberries is One of the Major Taxpayers in Armenia, Says Kerobyan
Wildberries is one of the major taxpayers in Armenia and, according to the data for the first quarter of this year, ranks 20th among large taxpayers. This was stated by Armenia's Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan during a Q&A session with the Government in the National Assembly while responding to a question from ruling faction MP Knyaz Hasanov regarding under what conditions Wildberries operates in Armenia and what benefits the country derives from it.
“We have structured the regulations in such a way that online trade companies are required to pay VAT in Armenia, which was not the case before, leading them to have an advantage over other retail companies operating in Armenia. That advantage no longer exists. The situation is now quite the opposite. Several companies engaged in retail trade in Armenia are operating tax-wise in a less transparent manner from Turkey or China,” the minister emphasized.
Kerobyan also highlighted that they have done everything in this regard, creating an obligation for Wildberries and similar companies to pay taxes in Armenia, and stated that their mission in this aspect is complete.
