Baku has turne Kavajar into a militarized zone against Armenia, former MP

It is not coincidental that Azerbaijani President Aliyev expressed dissatisfaction regarding the purchase of weapons by Armenia during a meeting with the Indian ambassador, referring to India's sale of arms to Yerevan. This was stated by former MP Tatevik Hayrapetyan in an interview with NEWS.am.

“At the same time, after the 2020 war, Aliyev has been buying weapons and preparing the army for a new war; the same Kavajar has been turned into a militarized zone—a launching pad for possible military actions against Armenia. Aliyev wants Armenia to not arm itself, to not prepare, and to not show resistance,” she said.

Calling Armenia 'Western Azerbaijan,' Baku, as noted by Hayrapetyan, is demonstrating its expansionist intentions. “Overall, I have very few expectations from the negotiation process,” she added.

This position was explained by the former MP through Azerbaijan's policies on the ground. “There are various formats, and the Moscow format of negotiations is not convenient for Baku, as Russia has its own agenda. This is associated with dragging out the resolution of the problem and postponing the determination of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh to the future while maintaining its presence there. This is not advantageous for Azerbaijan, but it cannot refuse this format. At the same time, the Armenian authorities are discussing other solutions through different formats, for example, the Brussels format,” emphasized the former parliamentarian.
