VIDEO. We No Longer Have Time to Hesitate, Says Artsakh National Assembly President
What rights, security, and guarantees can be discussed when Azerbaijan has unlawfully kept Artsakh under a full blockade for 162 days, continuing the ethnic cleansing policy against the people of Artsakh since the 1980s? This was stated today by the President of the Artsakh National Assembly, Arthur Tovmasyan, during an extraordinary session of the National Assembly.
"The Prime Minister of Armenia, disregarding the declaration of the Republic of Artsakh, has publicly stated that Armenia is prepared to recognize Azerbaijan's territorial integrity of 86,600 square kilometers, which according to Nikol Pashinyan includes Artsakh as well, but the issue of the security of the population of Artsakh should be discussed in dialogue between Baku and Stepanakert. What rights, security, and guarantees can be discussed when Azerbaijan has unlawfully kept Artsakh under a full blockade for 162 days, continuing the ethnic cleansing policy against the people of Artsakh since the 1980s?" he said.
Tovmasyan called on the worldwide Armenian community and the society concerned with the fate of Armenia and Artsakh to support the will of Artsakh to live and create peacefully and independently in its homeland.
"Dear deputies, we no longer have time to hesitate; every moment is precious for saving our future. Serving the homeland in these difficult times is a duty; protecting the homeland is a profession. God bless Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh," he concluded.
