If You Cannot Imagine What Will Happen to Armenia, Look at What is Happening to Artsakh: Arman Tatoyan
The former Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, writes:
“Yesterday at a press conference, it was stated what the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry began to articulate at this same time last year with the same terms. Even at that time, Azerbaijan (which is absolutely unacceptable for us) mentioned that the 7 villages of Tavush and Tigranashen would be 'returned to Azerbaijan through the delimitation process.' This means that Azerbaijan was even talking about the process of determining borders, whereas yesterday at the press conference, a decision was announced without delimitation that the villages 'belong to Azerbaijan' from now on. This will lead to disastrous dangers for our country and for each of us. There will be mass violations of rights, our physical security and mental peace will be further disrupted, and our connection with the outside world and the safety of the roads in Tavush, Vayots Dzor, and Syunik will be jeopardized, leading to new internally displaced persons, and so on.
The mentioned villages in Tavush and Tigranashen have been an inseparable part of Soviet Armenia. They are historical Armenian lands (facts confirming this are sound). The 'exclaveless' mechanical logic is a consequence of not learning lessons from the disastrous pages of history, which was irresponsibly and illegally promoted after the 44-day war in 2020 by a number of high-ranking officials in Armenia through irresponsible statements.
If you cannot imagine what will happen to Armenia, look at what is happening to Artsakh with tragic consequences. This is a unified chain; Azerbaijani policy is the same towards both Artsakh and Armenia.”
