“Realistically assessing the situation, it will still take us a week to completely extinguish the fire and to stop the smoke,” stated Kamo Areyan during a regular operational meeting, commenting on the firefighting efforts at the Nubarashen landfill.

“The scale was partial at first, then it spread across the entire perimeter. Yesterday we had a very difficult time working as the weather did not permit it. The entire fleet of the Emergency Situations Ministry has been mobilized. With the support of the heads of administrative districts, equipment from private companies has arrived,” Areyan added.

According to Areyan, discussions on future steps should begin today, and immediate action should be taken regarding the implementation of the new landfill project. Tigran Avinyan also mentioned that he would make a site visit in the afternoon to understand what is happening on the ground.
