Thousands March in Chisinau for Moldova's European Integration

Thousands gathered at the "European Moldova" National Assembly square in Chisinau. They advocate for amendments to the Constitution regarding the irreversibility of joining the European Union. President Maia Sandu addressed the crowd, declaring that Moldova's place is in the EU.

"We have come to state clearly and confidently that Moldovans are Europeans. Moldova's place is in the European Union. Our country's project and goal is for Moldova to become a member of the European Union. This is not just my obligation; we have the support of the European Union in this pursuit. This is what the people of the Republic of Moldova demand," said Maia Sandu, as quoted by publika.md.

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola stated at the rally that Moldova is ready to join the EU.

According to a correspondent from Interfax, over 50,000 people gathered at the square. As a result of the gathering, a resolution was adopted stating that EU membership is the only path that "can bring stability to the country and provide the Republic of Moldova with the necessary development opportunities that will allow future generations to realize their potential, accumulate wealth, modernize the country, and lead a fulfilling life."

Meanwhile, opposition protests against European integration are being held in four cities across Moldova, organized by the opposition "Shor" party.
