The World is Truly on the Brink of a Catastrophic Conflict: Patriarch Kirill

The world is on the verge of a third World War, and humanity could face the prospect of extinction in the event of the use of mass destruction weapons. This was stated by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.

“Christians and Muslims must remember that 'God is not in power, but in truth.' The world is indeed faced with a catastrophic conflict, and some call it the third World War. I do not presume to say that it is so, but indeed, such a potential for confrontation has accumulated that humanity will have no chance of survival if mass destruction weapons are used,” he said.

Patriarch Kirill expressed hope that the further development and expansion of cooperation between Orthodoxy and Islam could help address the challenges and temptations ahead.
