Photos: Armenians from Artsakh march towards Zarbin Bag to support the Kornidzor rally

The residents of Artsakh are joining the rally organized by the NGO "Voluntary Movement" near Kornidzor, titled "For Artsakh." They have set off on a march from the Military Pantheon in Stepanakert towards the Zarbin Bag section of the road connecting Artsakh to Mother Armenia.

It has been over 160 days since Artsakh has been under blockade. On December 12, a group of Azerbaijanis in civilian clothing closed the Stepanakert-Goris highway, which connects Artsakh to Armenia, citing environmental reasons, and left the area on April 28. Previously, on February 22, 2022, the International Court of Justice imposed urgent measures on Azerbaijan, compelling it to unblock the Lachin corridor. This decision has not only gone unimplemented, but on April 23, Azerbaijan set up a checkpoint on the Lachin corridor, taking full control over it.

Following the establishment of this illegal checkpoint by Azerbaijan on April 23, communities in the Berdadzor region of Shushi—specifically Hin Shen, Mets Shen, Lisagor, and Yeghkakhogh—have found themselves under bilateral blockade, deprived of all means of contact with both the remaining part of Artsakh and Armenia. Due to Azerbaijani obstacles, all types of humanitarian supplies to the residents of these villages have ceased.

However, the fact remains that the road is still closed. Incidents of ceasefire violations by Azerbaijan have increased, as evidenced by reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense. Due to the lack of international pressure on Azerbaijan, the Armenian population of Artsakh stands on the brink of a humanitarian disaster. Calls from the international community have been ignored by Azerbaijan's leadership up to this point.

For 160 days, fundamental human rights have been violated, while international organizations and states remain silent.
