Helicopter Crashes in Afghanistan, Casualties Reported
A helicopter belonging to the Taliban has crashed in Afghanistan's Samangan Province, resulting in the deaths of two pilots. The information was reported by RIA Novosti, citing its sources.
According to local sources, the Taliban-operated helicopter crashed after colliding with a power line.
Sources in Samangan's security forces have confirmed that both pilots were killed in the incident.
In early August 2021, the Taliban intensified their assault on Afghan government forces, entering Kabul on August 15 and declaring the end of the war the following day. During the last two weeks of August, a massive evacuation was underway from Kabul airport, which was under the control of American military forces, involving citizens from Western countries and Afghans who had cooperated with them.
On the night of August 31, American soldiers left Kabul airport, bringing an end to nearly 20 years of US military presence in Afghanistan. In early September, the composition of Afghanistan's interim government was announced.
