Australian Mountaineer Dies on Everest

Australian mountaineer Jason Bernard Kenison has died on Mount Everest, reports the Himalayan journal. It is noted that the Australian succumbed at a location referred to as the "death zone" at more than 8,000 meters above sea level. He became the tenth person to die on Everest this spring.

Stephen Sherpa, the CEO of Asia Trekking Dawa, stated that the 40-year-old Australian Jason Bernard Kenison died while descending from the summit on May 19. According to reports, Kenison began showing signs of abnormal behavior near the south summit, after which guides took him to the "death zone," where he lost consciousness. Reports indicate that the Australian's body remains in the "death zone."
