VIDEO: "The Mother of the Child Who Gave Life to All of Us is Detained" - Ruben Melikyan

The mother of fallen soldier Zhora Martirosyan, Gayane Martirosyan, has already been transferred to a detention facility from the first instance court of Yerevan's Shengavit administrative district. Human rights defender Ruben Melikyan reported this to journalists.

“We were not given a minute to explain to our client what had happened; I can say it very mildly. We provided all options for guarantees, we offered over 10 million, and proposed house arrest as an option; all possible alternatives were on the court's table. The mother of the child who gave life to all of us is detained, whether for one month or two months,” said Melikyan.

It should be noted that today the court placed Gayane Martirosyan in custody for one month.

Recall that on May 17, the newspaper “Haykakan Zhamanak,” linked to the Prime Minister's family, reported that members of the NGO “The Call of the Sons” attempted to kidnap the Prime Minister’s son. According to the newspaper, parents of fallen soldiers forced Ashot Pashinyan to get into their car, but he managed to jump out of the vehicle, which briefly stopped, causing him to be hit by a vehicle following behind those associated with the same organization.

Ashot Pashinyan has filed a report regarding the incident. The Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case for attempted kidnapping, leading to the arrest of Gayane Martirosyan. Ms. Gayane has declared an indefinite hunger strike.
