Turkey Airport Suspends Flights Due to Unknown Object
Turkey's airport has suspended flights due to an unknown object. Following the discovery of the unidentified object, dozens of flights have been canceled at Gaziantep Airport, reports RIA Novosti.
At 00:30, the crews of two passenger planes spotted the unknown object at an altitude of approximately 2743 meters. The pilots reported the situation to the air traffic control center.
"Some aircraft that were scheduled to land in Gaziantep have been redirected to Şanlıurfa and Adana airports. Since the night, 26 flights have been canceled at Gaziantep Airport, including 13 departures and 13 landings," the statement noted.
An official statement regarding this matter is expected in the coming hours. Hundreds of passengers are waiting at the airport due to the canceled flights.
