The Authorities in Artsakh Cannot Afford to Collapse Even for a Second: Ruben Vardanyan
The authorities in Artsakh cannot afford to collapse even for a second, as the enemy would instantly take advantage of that, wrote the former Prime Minister of the Republic of Artsakh, Ruben Vardanyan, on his Facebook page.
“Right now, everyone in Artsakh is on edge, the situation is very complex, and in these conditions, sharp words and even ultimatum-laden statements are humanly understandable. However, we must understand that at this moment, we cannot allow ourselves even a regular political conflict or crisis that would be considered normal in another time period, as the enemy would immediately benefit from that. Everyone should understand this—both those who initiate debates, those who come up with various initiatives for resignation, and even those in Armenia who make careless statements,” he emphasized.
“We cannot deviate from our constitution even a step; we cannot step outside the boundaries of the legal framework. If we allow ourselves to question whose power is legitimate and whose is not, then the enemy will reap the benefits as soon as tomorrow. Therefore, I urge everyone—the head of state, the head of parliament, the leaders of parties and political forces, and even myself—not to give in to emotions and to avoid seeking any unexpected solutions outside the legal framework. The authorities in Artsakh cannot afford to collapse even for a second. In the face of external threats, we must be absolutely united.”
“Yesterday, we convened a press conference for the 'Artsakh Front for Security and Development' public movement. The movement's goal is to promote solidarity and take concrete steps to overcome the crisis. However, on the same day, we faced various ultimatums, calls for resignation, organizing confidence referendums, and announcements about shutting down social networks... Understand what they are doing to us. They are trying to turn us against each other, forcing us to engage in internal intrigues and pushing the situation to a critical point. They want to hinder us from doing what we need to do.”
“We must be able to put emotions aside and approach the situation rationally and calmly. We need to provide a solution to an extremely complex problem, and that solution can be achieved only through exceptional unity and perseverance,” wrote Vardanyan.
